Tell me a little bit about your background.
I am originally from Jacksonville, Florida and have lived in a few states across the US. I have been in property management for 6 + years. I moved to Pennsylvania to be closer to family.
Which has been more valuable in your career, your education or your experience?
I would say both are important but valuable in my career over time, has been my experience. It helped me draw ideas, creative solutions and parallels between similar situations I have dealt with in the past. Experience can't be taught and it's hard to replicate the situations property managers deal with, with classes.
What's the best thing about your job?
The people! My residents and coworkers are my favorite thing about working with Birgo. I love getting to know my residents at my different buildings and help them with one of the most important things in their lives... their homes!
What’s the best career decision you’ve ever made?
Getting into property management. I had a few job offers when I started my first PM job and am so glad I chose it. It's taught me so much over the years and has genuinely helped me become a better person.
What skills have you found vital to your job?
My communication and problem solving skills. I am a great listener and can really help people dive into issues or concerns and find solutions to solve them.
What advice do you have for someone new to the industry?
Patience is vital in property management. People all communicate differently and most of the time, if people are angry and yelling at you, they aren't mad at you but more so they want to make sure they are communicating how they feel. It's not meant to belittle you or upset you, so keep a cool head and try to find a way to work through whatever is going on.
Is there a quote that motivates you?
“Rome wasn't built in a day and it didn't fall over night. Minutes become days and days become years. Watch how you spend your minutes'' - Jocko Willink
Who inspires you?
My mom. She was born blind, in and out of foster care as a kid, and had to grow up very quickly. Despite all this, she is the kindest person I know. She was a wonderful parent and owns her own auto and boat refinishing business!

What’s your go-to coffee (or tea) order?
Coffee is an iced honey latte and tea is a green tea latte.
Winter or summer? The beach or the mountains?
Fall! And Beach.
What books or articles should I be reading?
I love science articles and have been reading a lot of articles lately about the science behind neurotransmitters and the emotions/ actions that they drive us to. I would highly recommend The elephant in the Brain or the Happy Brain book series.

Well my husband just moved back home and we love to be outdoors with our pets, spending time with family or doing one of our many hobbies.
