Overview
From mom and pop shops to modern cuisine, Mt. Lebanon has it all.
Mediterra Cafe
Millennials and Gen Z, this one’s for you. Mediterra is a casual, yet hip cafe that serves breakfast, lunch, coffee, alcoholic beverages and charcuterie boards. Talk about a one-stop shop!
Their menu has our mouths watering - next time you’re in the Mt. Lebanon area, be sure to stop in for food and drinks that are almost too pretty to eat!
Mineo’s Pizza
This is a recommendation from our Mt. Lebanon property manager, Lauren Ball. Mineo’s Pizza is located on Washington Road is a highly rated pizza shop.
Try something different when you order like adding taco toppings instead of the regular pepperoni! Would you devour this pie? Let us know!
Fun fact: Our Central Square Apartment building is located directly across from Mineo’s!
HitchHiker Brewing Co.
This one’s a favorite in our books. While not your typical “restaurant,” this local pub is perfect for your next date night.
Whether it’s after work or a weekend affair, you can relax knowing the HitchHiker Brewing staff will brew you the best beer possible and wrap it all into one amazing experience.
If you’re opting for food, we highly recommend the Amish Hard Pretzel. It’s the perfect pairing with one of their on tap beers.

Inner Rutz is a boutique that offers a fresh take on well-being and conscious living. Their soulful shop has a large selection of healing crystals to help cultivate your intuition and guide you through life. This small biz also offers wellness retreats, meditation & yoga classes and distance reiki (this is a Japanese form of alternative medicine called energy healing).

Ice rink
The ice rink in Mt. Lebanon is great for adults, teens, and kids! Recently renovated in 2017, the facility offers a wide range of competitive, recreational, and instructional opportunities.

Scoops on Beverly
Here at Birgo, we prefer hard ice cream over soft serve any day. If you’re like us, then your sweet tooth will be satiated when you try Scoops on Beverly. We wish our stomachs were as big as our eyes so we could eat allll the ice cream.
Our top pick: Pittsburgh Pot Holes (black-tar fudge ice cream with chunks of chocolate)
Potomac Bakery
Lauren Ball, the property manager for our Mt. Lebanon properties, raves about Potomac Bakery. She said her favorite thing to pick up are their homemade donuts!
They sell everything from breads, pies, cakes, to muffins and cheesecake. There’s truly nothing better than getting fresh pastries from the local bakery!
La Gourmandine
A true taste of France...brought to the ‘Burgh! Walking past this bakery, you’ll be immediately transported to the warm aromas of a French boulangerie and patisserie.
If you’ve ever been to Europe, you must know that the pastries are to-die-for. We can say the same for everything at La Gourmandine.
Bonus points: they’re on GrubHub and DoorDash!
Summer days can get hot here in Western Pennsylvania. On those scorching summer days, cool off with an iced coffee from a few of our favorite spots.
Orbis Caffe
Orbis Caffe is not your average neighborhood cafe. With a comprehensive coffee bar and rotating roast selection, they are committed to helping you navigate through the vast array of brew methods, roasts, and flavors to find a cup that inspires you.
They now also serve beer, wine and cocktails!
Orbis Caffee is located just down the street from our property, Apartments on Academy. View availability here.
Uptown Coffee
While coffee, tea and assorted drinks are part of the mix and the lunchtime crowd is keen on deli-style sandwiches, the stars of the show are the homemade baked goods.
Our recommendation: Buy some delicious biscotti to dip in your espresso drink!
Uptown Coffee is located just down the street from our property, Central Square Apartments. View availability here.
Mel’s Petit Cafe
Sticking with the French theme from the last section, we’ve got another French shop to tell you about.
The owner, Melanie, was born and raised in the north of France and relocated to Mt. Lebanon with her family several years ago. While they do serve flavorful coffee, their specialty is crêpes. With savory and sweet options, they satisfy everyone’s taste buds.
