WHERE TO LIVE IN PITTSBURGH: THE BIG MOVE
Moving can be a daunting task, especially when moving to a new city.
There are so many tough decisions to make before even choosing a house. What realtor should you use? How are you going to sell your own home? Most importantly, what neighborhood do you want to live in?
Luckily, Pittsburgh has a wide array of different neighborhoods in and around the city that each offers different features.
A few of these great neighborhoods include:
NORTH SIDE
Home to the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates, the North Side is located right across the river from downtown. Its close proximity to the city makes the North Side one of the most convenient downtown neighborhoods. Residents can enjoy all the city has to offer with just a ten-minute walk, or they can easily head over to catch a Pirates game. Residents will not have to settle for living spaces on the North Side either as it has many great historic homes to choose from.
SQUIRREL HILL
This neighborhood is full of culture. Being an older community near downtown Pittsburgh, Squirrel Hill has tons to offer every new resident’s unique needs. It is fully equipped with a grocery store, various restaurants and bars, a movie theatre, and a yoga studio. Squirrel Hill also has homes to fit every person’s unique needs. Even though this may sound like a neighborhood well outside the city limits, Squirrel Hill is a quick bike ride or bus trip to downtown.
LAWRENCEVILLE
Perhaps the most up-and-coming neighborhood in Pittsburgh is Lawrenceville. Being less expensive than other downtown communities, Lawrenceville is a great choice for younger homebuyers looking to buy their first property. There are lots of restaurants and clothing stores along the main streets of Lawrenceville making it a great walking community and a trendy one at that.
SOUTH SIDE
The South Side has perhaps the widest array of residency options for those looking to relocate. There are many new apartment options located in South Side Works as well as many classic Victorian style houses lining the side streets. Pittsburgh’s South Side Works located in the heart of the South Side has over 34 acres of retail, restaurants, and entertainment making sure residents and visitors are never bored. There is always something to do in the South Side, and the nightlife in this community ensures the fun doesn’t stop when the sun goes down.
While it is still a daunting task, moving becomes much simpler once you decide on a neighborhood. Having so many different neighborhoods right around the city, Pittsburgh gives future residents countless options when they’re looking for where to live in Pittsburgh.
Whether your priorities are being able to walk to a game, wanting to be close to shopping and nightlife, or wanting to surround yourself with culture and charm, Pittsburgh has a neighborhood that is sure to be just right.
